Project Nanovor is a fan-led effort to preserve and rebuild the late-2000s creature battler for modern players and players-to-come.

What we are preserving
The Nanovor themselves have a unique and iconic design – this above all else is something that we value preserving as much as possible as well as the overall techno-vibe that comes with angry little silicon-based lifeforms.
What we are modernizing
- Secure, maintainable modern architecture and better performancee
- Currently, we are using Unity to build the project out for both the frontend and backend
- While not necessarily open-source, the project’s goal is to be community-led
- A sustainable path for new content
- This is where we differ most from other previous and current projects
- Our goal is not to bootstrap or re-engineer the old nanovor files based on the little we have left from the old 2008 architecture
- To additionally free ourselves legally from the murkey Nanovor IP legality, we would also love to see the Nanovor transitioned to modern 3D models instead of re-using the old sprites in any way from the legacy files
- Our goal is to use as little as possible from the old legacy game files, while still preserving the spirit of Nanovor
Community project
This is an independent preservation and revival effort. Nanovor and related original names, artwork, and characters belong to their respective rights holders. Project Nanovor is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original creators or publishers.
